Description

Fresh trevally, frozen whole to lock in its quality from catch to kitchen. "Whole" means exactly that — the fish arrives head-on with the guts in, the way whole fish is traditionally sold. Freezing it this way keeps the flesh firm and fresh and doesn't affect the taste in any way.

Preparing your fish

Because it's whole and ungutted, it takes about a minute to prep before cooking:

  1. Thaw slightly — just enough that you can cut into it.
  2. Run a knife down the belly and remove the guts, then rinse under cold water. (Or fillet it straight off the bone, whichever you prefer.)
  3. Cook however you like — baked whole, pan-fried, grilled or steamed.

Good to know: as with any whole ungutted fish, you may notice a natural sea smell when you first open the pack. That's completely normal and clears as soon as the fish is cleaned and rinsed — once prepped, your trevally is fresh and ready to enjoy.
